For some reason, and perhaps it has something to do with the times of day that I have a moment to take picture, I catch sunsets and silhouette pretty often. This one was pretty stark in its transition from a burning weather front to rapidly blackening sky. the image is available in a few different sizes for your desktop picture convenience... Migration.

Most nights, on my way home, my eyes glaze over, my blood pressure rises, and I pick one of five routes that will get me home (each of which presents it's own annoynaces, but same mileage and time consumption). Early this week, a river of birds was passing by, and I was able to snap off a few pictures (because I carry my Nikon everywhere) while at a stop light. In this image, all of the specs you see from the right hand side all the way to the hazy bottom left is birds. This river spanned as far as I could see while I was sitting at that light.

My summer vacation this year was a week at the beach with friends and family in North Carolina. It seems as though everyone in Northern Virginia goes to the Outer Banks of NC for their vacation, and it's really no wonder why. Corolla Dunes

Great Falls Desktop.

I went to Great Falls, VA over the weekend, and managed to snap of one good picture of the falls (see below). Most of the drops you see are like ten feet, and the water is pretty high right now. If you can belive it, people kayak down this set of falls. I've made a few versions of the image available suitable for use on your desktop... great_falls_640_480.jpg
